Relatively (compared to big box stores) good supply of farm, garden, and animal supplies for a small family business. Extremely pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Prices are comparable on most products and if they don't have the product they almost always offer to order it or make the effort to replace with a comparable item. The only reason I wouldn't say five stars is the lack of selection but again, it's a local business that carries what sells. Great 'mom and pop' to go to!
Homestead Pet & Farm Supply is so much more than a farm and feed store! It's an adventure. Each time we stop in, I have to explore and see what hidden treasures I will find. If you're visiting Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, or the Farmer's Museum, and you want to take in some of the local culture, then you need to drive over to New Berlin and check out Homestead. You can visit on Saturday's during the summer and take in the farmer's market. You can watch farmers back up to the dock to pick up feed as you relax on the porch in one of those rustic chairs. In the winter you can sit at one of the tables while soaking up the heat from the cozy stove, and enjoy playing a game or reading a book. In the spring, its a great place to find your garden plants or the flowers for your window boxes. Don't be surprised if there's baby bunnies and chicks in the store, or maybe a litter of pups.

There are locally made wood crafts, locally made alpaca mittens, there are locally grown fruits, organic foods, herbs, horse tack, candy, clothes, hardware, and so much more! How about a handmade wooden truck or airplane for your grandson? Or maybe you want to get a bag of buckwheat pancake flour and real maple syrup.
Talk about friendly service! This family run business treats each customer as special. I always feel welcome. Its fun to browse around the store and meet the interesting variety of people who make Homestead a regular stop. Whether you live in Upstate NY or Colorado, if you get a chance to stop in this store, you're bound to enjoy your visit.

Do you have pets? They have the greatest selection of pet supplies. One of our favorites is the bulk dog bisquits.
Best customer service anyone could ask for, hands down. Other businesses could learn a thing or two from this place. They're always welcoming, makes you feel at home instead of just another consumer.
There is always a selection of discount items that I have to check out. It is where I found my favorite barn boots, my favortite sweatshirt, and the round pen I work my horses in.
